BellSouth may shimmy out of 'naked' DSL

I'm so glad I don't deal with the old Bell Telecoms anymore

I've ditched landline phones for cellular (why use both, especially with family plans with free long distance as cheap as regular phones with non-free long distance?) and I get my internet package deal with my cable company (and get faster internet as a result). Plus with cable modems you don't have to screw around with PPPoE.
