- Jeffreeeeee the reason oil prices are so high
-
is because the enviromentalist will not let any more refinery facilities to be built. Each plant is currently running 96 to 98% capacity. It has been 30 years since a new refinery has been built. Demand outstrips supply and the price goes up. Economics 101 tells you that. Next oil reserves are near an all time high. Next there are over 250 different grades of fuel in the United States which drives the price of fuel higher. 38 cents collected on every gallon sold goes to federal taxes for yours and my road. That does not include the nickle here nickle there per gallon each state adds.
Bush just might be for big business. I wonder are you self employed as I am? If not, is it "Big" business that is paying your wages? If you will read the story you just might find that the reason the Bush administration is not filing is because of the history of LONG letigation any time the FCC makes some rules. Personnaly I think the government should stay out of the regulatory department. - Posted by: Squawkbox Posted on: 06/09/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
