Right...

hy would the FCC want to "help" develop a useless "Super-V-chip" that will never be used by parents and bypassed by the kids its supposed to protect? The same reason the NSA wanted to "help" develop the Clipper chip.

Then again, this is never intended to reach end-users. More likely, it will be installed on ISP and cellphone systems where nobody but the government and ISP/carriers can control them, leaving the net to their whims and wiretaps. Not that it's not happening already, with the NSA & AT&T ***-shagging each other and giving Apple a little nut-2-butt on the side.
