OK, granted, many
buyers don't need pure raw power. But, in my case, I need a way to tell which configuration will get my video rendered the fastest.

According to the video software vendor and everyone on the software forums using my particular software, harddisk speed, RAM speed and quantity of RAM, Video RAM, and you name it has NO appreciable effect on render speed.

The ONLY thing that affects render speed is pure raw CPU power. It is scalable. The more power, the faster the render.

So, if CPU clock speed is no longer used to market CPUs, and the CPU manufacturer hides or disquises such useful information in a lot of BS (see story), how in the world are people who actually need to know the real power of a CPU going to find out? Especially if computer magazines buy into the BS and stop publishing the facts.
