- Instead of all of the marketing smoke and mirrors...
- Why don't they make the 64 bit PPC and supporting chipsets more inexpensive? The PPC is a great CPU. I have done a lot of embedded work with the 32 bit version of these chips and would like to see 64 bit PPC Windows machines available at a lower price than is possible now. If they could lower the price enough to make it more attactive I believe that the Linux community would start taking advantage of it (I know that *I* would) and with Java and .NET gaining ground in the market a PPC PC would not suffer the same lack of available software that faced the original 32 bit PPC PC. MS already has a XP kernel that they are going to use on the new PPC based X-Box, it should not take a lot of tweaking to make it into a consumer OS.
