isn't it ridiculous that with OEM's selling multi-processor boxes
so much of the public still thinks CPU speed is the biggest impact on performance. CPU speed has been proven to be only one way to improve performance and not by any means the best method. Fast CPU drives up system cost, drives down system reliability, and leads to early component failure and increased EMI problems.

Better compilers, smarter busses, increased levels of co-processing in the design of the system which offloads the CPU all have more impact on systems performance than CPU speed but people still run out to buy a faster CPU only to spend 70% in CPU idle state rather than 35% idle!
