Yes, clock speed is not
the best metric, but here at Intel we have nothing else to
demonstrate than higher clock speeds.

Intel should have been trying to push the Itaniun-2
architecture and its associated chip-sets/mem to higher
perfromance, It should have also been working on
developing lower end chips for the desktop, based on
recent technologies anf NOT on the dead x86.

The fact that Intel insists in the obsolete (by 15 years) x86
technology and the ensuing buyers investment on it will
only make the IT infrastructure stay more seriously stuck
with solutions without future.

Intel: WORK ON YOUR COMPILERS FOR ITANIUM!
