- Re: Who's anti American!?!
-
"I would like all 800 plus dead Americans, and the 2400 plus crippled ones from this war back. Is that Anti American?"
Depends on how you view history. I would like the 60+ thousand dead Americans back from WWII that we lost due to our lack of PREEMPTIVE STRATEGY! I think it is Anti-American to want to sit back and wait for Americans to be killed before we take action knowing that we are a target already. Maybe if we were a bit more preemptive in the past there would be a few million more Europeans alive today, and Israelis wouldn't be so prosecuted as they are today since it probably wouldn't even exists as it does today. Maybe if we were a bit more preemptive, Pearl Harbor wouldn't have ever happened. I understand your point of view, however I feel that that point of view, if adopted by the majority of this country, will be the point of view that will cause this country to perish.
"I don't want to be told that Iraq was trying to buy nuclear material when everyone and their mother in the government knew that to be untrue."
Prove it. Neither you or I know what our highest leaders really know. We didn't know how close to annihilation we had come during the Cuban missile crisis until recently.
" I don't want our president bragging on how Saddam is no long torturing his people, only to find out we are too"
You don't know what torture is. www.michaelsavage.com
""Well we are not as bad as Saddam was when he tortured""
We aren't as bad, never have been, never will. Don't condemn a whole country for the actions of a few idiots. Your imagination runs amuck with all the liberal press brainwashing you.
"" I don't want our administration to try and tie Iraq in with 9/11 when just about evey single terrorist in those planes were Saudis, and even those who were not....still were not Iraqi's.""
The war on Terror began in New York. We took it to Afghanistan and Iraq rather than fight it on our own soil because after all, we Americans want to protect ourselves. Syria is probably next. Libya gets the point and so does Saudi Arabia. You don't understand the big picture. Terrorism is borderless, but we have to work with the boarders. Had Al-Quada been operating from Saudi Arabia and not Afghanistan, we probably would have been in there. Iraq would still be where they are right now irregardless because Saddam did NOT DO WHAT HE AGREED HE WOULD FOR THE LAST 13 YEARS!
"If Bush and company did not think they had the ability to make the case for war with the facts..."
No case was needed. The case was already made before Bush took office. I would think that most Americans agree that what is being done in Iraq is the right thing. The mass gravesites being uncovered in Iraq are reminiscent of Nazi Germany. Thousands, if not Millions of Iraqis are dead because of Saddam. Is it not American to liberate a country under such control? Is that not reason enough for our actions if you don't believe anything else?
"I for one don't want a cover up...I want every dirty secret to be shown in the light of day for all to see."
I don't like cover-up either however neither you or I could tell the spin from the truth unless you and I were part of the actual decision making process. You and I are both subject to our very censored and biased news press and media as well as the lies of bitter political party divisions that work these mediums like puppets.
Mistakes will be made, but rather than focusing on what we have or have not done, we Americans need to focus more on what it is we are trying to accomplish. We want freedom and prosperity in our world and would like to maintain that in our homeland. Freedom and prosperity creates opportunity for the people. A prosperous people are for the most part devoid of the types of people that make up groups like what you have with Militant Islam. With prosperous people, Insane dictators like Saddam cannot rise to power. We want to maintain our livelihoods for those that live in this country and our actions outside this country proves it.
You probably love this country as much as I however there are two types of people in this country, those who believe that our contry is mostly a good country, and those who think that our country is mostly a bad country. Sounds chidish, but just watch the news and hear what they say, then listen to the people and you will see it. - Posted by: rkadowns Posted on: 06/04/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
