Sony needs to exit the US market
In recent conversation with SONY executives, it came to our attention, that SONY is moving away from the customer focus in favour of short term profit. US markets offering SONY products have been shrinking, and our own experience with SONY customer service seems more like customer DISservice. It would have been a minor effort (a phone call to Maxtor) on SONY's parts to keep a loyal customer, and because of short-sightedness and devotion to policy rather than customers, they have lost this one and will need to focus on alternative markets if this situation continues.
