Histroy will always be the story told by
the winners. There is no immutable truth and I doubt that there ever has been. Even the Bible has been rewritten so many times (the Old Testament part of it was converted from a verbal record) that it has completely changed. Scholars still look at the old scrolls and religious relics while they bicker over what was really said and what was meant to be said.

If the human race survives that next millennium and they look back, I bet that the consensus will be "what a bunch of idiots - it's a wonder we survived - who cares what they thought..."
