You also have to understand I am not talking about building the entire PC. Ibm can compete well when all they are providing is the CPU and possible the MoBo. (Take a look at Apple.)

In that environment IBM could easily turn on the machinery all ready in place (making the CPU for the Xbox) to fill orders to the OEMs.

And don't forget, IBM simply hates the fact they aren't a bigger player in this market, after all they invented it. Consider that the fab plant is in place, they are building the CPU for the Xbox, and nothing lowers cost like volume. I don't see this as a huge step for them...

Should be interesting to watch it all unfold.
