Schwartz spreads pricing ideas beyond Sun software

Free Solaris!: >> But not on the SPARC Platform. I mean why bother with Linux on a SPARC server. You get both Linux or Solaris for nothing but you get support for Solaris from Sun where as you have to pay extra for Linux support.

Sun is moving away from Solaris being free. They announced annual licensing fees this year, and in other news Schwartz has indicated that Sun won't be selling hardware any more, just leasing and licensing.; Posted by: Yagotta B.
