TV in cars
Not exactly. That would come as news to anyone with a GPS navigation system installed. It's in the front seat (what good is a back seat map to a driver) and displayed on an LCD. Can ridiculous applications be conjured up? Yes. Can good applications be misused - e.g. watching a web cam while actually moving in traffic? Yes. Is there a place for automation as a management and information tool for the home? You bet. Is is affordable yet? Well, that changes fast, doesn't it. No TV watcher would do without a remote, no homeowner would do without wall-mounted light switches and electric lights, no driver would buy a car without electric starter. All these were new technologies at one time that aren't even thought of any more. A light in an electric fridge - hmmm, you mean I don't have to buy ice and put it in the top anymore? And the potty is indoors? No well or pump handle in the yard? C'mon - time marches on; MP3's, CD's, computers, bicycles. There's a place for almost everything, and you don't have to forsake a relaxed life to use and enjoy them.
