What is the fasination with internet enabled appliances?

What is next, broadband toilets? WiFi showers? Got to run
ethernet to your washer & drier?

As for me, I want a 'fridge to keep stuff cold, an oven to heat it
up, a phone that make phone calls, and no freakin way will I
have webcams hooked up to any network in the house with out
it walled off from the net.

About the only good thing I can think of is your 'fridge can tell
you the milk is sour, you burned your dinner, your youngest kid
hacked the TV and is watching porn, you caught your wife
cheating on you (full video) and your other kid was rolling a joint
while watching mom.
