Barcelona chasing a moving target
I'm sure Barcelona will be a good design. The problem is that it is chasing a moving fast target in Intel Core 2 lineup. While AMD might do well in floating point (and that's it), the fact it loses or on par with everything else Intel has makes it *really* hard.

This is the same AMD vs Intel of the last 35 years. All the newbies think AMD's progress in the 2 years before Core2 was like the 2nd coming. It was mere blip in their 35 year history of failure to get from under Inte's shoe.
