When I consider how many people I routinely see dialing a cell phone while trying to thread commuter traffic, I am willing to entertain the thought that we are already half-way there ... we have highways littered with unattended vehicles.

However, I see a darker use.

If all it takes to program these vehicles is the contents of a single USB drive, what is to keep them from being reprogrammed on-the-fly?

So that, instead of going to work this morning, you are diverted to an unused alley for a high-tech mugging. By the police.
