Another dazzling display of confusion
Note for the next time server sales numbers are discussed:
First give the total for the overall market and the change from your comparable period.
Then decide whether you want to analyze by company or by operating system, and stick to your decision.

If it's by company, start with total sales and then go to operating systems. Unless there's some difference you want to highlight, the most important thing for success/failure is the total. Then when you go to operating systems you can point out both which systems are more important to the total and which markets the company dominates.

If it's by operating system, give the total (with reference to the combined total). Then you can discuss the shares and changes for each company you pick out.

Then at the end you can refer to the other (ie, if you've organized by company, then end with the operating system and vice versa) and summarize the important points briefly.

Context numbers (usually totals) first, then detail.

Oh, and something that moves from 20% to 25% has increased by 5 points or 25 percent. Usually the number of points is better. Be consistent, whichever you choose.

This article as it is almost informs me of something I didn't know before I started reading it, I guess, maybe.
