- First off I would like to ask....

What is the deal with you die hard AMD fans?? AMD is and always has (with few strides aside) been the under dog. One step behind (dont point out 64 bit, itchy, its not useful yet). Lets talk about the meat and potatoes, Performance and cost. You can lie on your benchmarks all you want (both sides are guilty of this) but in the realm of space to give and power under the hood, Intel wins hands down. That is if you can pay for it, and/or over clock it. My E6600 Runs at 3.2Ghz with out a hitch... AMD is the Apple and the zestier Orange is Intel. We are talking the Giant, unlimited research money, Intel here. Even if AMD were able to top them Intel has something miles better waiting pipes. AMDs best hope is the build a new Processor ATI GPU sandwich. Speaking of sandwiches here. AMD has got to change the playing field. That is all they can do to stay in this one... Lets face it the ATI 2900 was less than satisfactory next to the NV8800s, and the AMD processors in the dual core arena have fallen very short. Lets not even get into the server/enterprise game. AMD has its place with budget systems and budget system builders... AKA BUSINESSES! and those same systems need XP to stay under the $800 marker. So yes AMD is a great company, our first built computers were all AMDs, but AMD is not the performance king.
GET OVER IT! SIT ON YOUR HANDS FOR A SMART BUSINESS DECISION AND A NEW COMPANY/PRODUCT DIRECTION! Mark my words, you heard it hear fist. The AMD/ATI sandwich.... Its only smart. It will wow you with DDR3 and a low nanometer and a super ATI northbridge, with more bells and whistles than ever before! The gamers market is where this is settled. But they will continue to play off one another untill something cataclysmic comes along. They need each other. They wont live without competition. AMD is not going anywhere.... Intel is.... 45nm chips and more cache than you can shake a stick at (that is where the power is)... - Posted by: wesmantx05@...
