How the 'Milan' table PC was born

Ho hum... must be a slow news day: From http://www.old-computers.com you can see the promotional images for the Kitchen Computer (http://www.old-computers.com/fun/default.asp?s=48) from Honeywell.

Is this a case of MS' "embrace, extend, don't bother" strategy? (No need for the 'extinguish' here, Honeywell haven't made those tables for decades.)

I also have a very nice desk which once housed a PDP-11 machine; it is now home to a 2.6GHz Opteron 252 which has roughly 10,000 times the computing power of the PDP-11. The desk is a bit short though; regrettably I gave away the tape trolley which could be fastened to the desk to extend it. Come to think of it, the trolley alone could house the beast.
