table PC? What will they think of next happy
Ah well, better late than never...
just for the record: my first PC (Godbout S-100 bus based, with Z80B CPU) I built into a purpose-designed desk in the early 1980s, complete with twin Qume 8in floppy drives. I sold an article and pic to a local how-to magazine...

A few years later I approached a computer firm with an idea to build the "intelligent desk", which would incorporate the touchscreen display hinged to lie flat, level with the writing surface or pop up at any desired angle. Sorry, no interest.

And just to continue in this vain (sic): around 1986 I conceived of the "kangaroo computer" at a drunken lunch with other IT scribes hosted by a noted PR firm, and I later described the idea - having a PC with a dockable notebook-like portion - more fully in Australian PC Magazine. Lo and behold, the idea eventually appeared as the (then) suddenly ubiquitous docking station... I won't mention the scanning head for a dot-matrix printer and other such innovations...

Have fun at MS, guys!
