Think about it...
There are tremendous potential benefits to consumers in time and cost savings - if we can get over the fear of privacy invasion. Tags can be "killed" at point of sale on completion of the purchase.

The real problem is the cost per tag and this will stop adoption until it becomes negligible. And until a standard is agreed by ALL stakeholders, there's not going to be any volume production or serious adoption.

Wal-mart have issued a meaningless deadline: Tag your products by 1 Jan 2005. What tag standard?
