Not likely..
Given the huge amount of software for the 32 bit x86 platform, expect future chips from Intel and AMD (which will be 64 bit in the near future - AMD has actually already released a few consumer 64 bit chips) to support the instruction set.. either that, or a software "virtual machine" that translates x86 instructions into Itanium/Prescott/Hammer etc. instructions..
