You are running a sw dev team and you make rediculous comments like that? In other words, you are the equivalent of "IT manager" for those server related topics.

Dual CPU's for servers and SMT has been around for years. Intel brought HT into the desktop three years ago. The logical step is exactly what Intel is doing. Double precision arithmetic via 64bits does very little for the volume market. All those "operton-64's" sales are running 32 bit software and replacing Athlons. The market share numbers prove this.
