Intel Smoking Crack
"But [Intel President Paul Otellini] predicted software is likely to take advantage of multicore chips sooner than it takes advantage of 64 bit capabilities."

If I'm a software vendor, there is no way -- repeat NO WAY -- I'm rewriting all my code to take advantage of dual-core and then rewriting it *again* to take advantage of 64-bit. I tell my team to keep working on 64-bit and forget the dual-core thing because 64-bit is almost a year into production, whereas dual-core is a year away from production.

That statement is absolute nonsense from Intel.
