- The question still being, who can afford to do this?
- I mean, if you ask most folks to buy the x86 chip, or pay twice as much for the new cool "will be faster than anything you ever saw if anyone writes any code for it" dual core x86 + new ISA, what are most folks going to do, especially in the enterprise? They'll buy the cheaper but still fast x86 that fills the need. That is a LOT of cost and risk to lay a new product out there and hope that a: people buy it, and b: someone will write something for the new part of it.
