The Problem is Old Windows; the solutions well known by professionals
Intel has spent years screaming about it. Then they became the largest contributor to open source Linux when Microsoft wouldn't do anything about it. Almost all IT professionals understand.

"The problem is that deep inside Windows is code taken from the MS-DOS operating system of the early 1980s, and that code looks for certain instructions when it boots."

Those certain instructions are used by hackers to gain access to the hardware.

The proven solution is not Vista. It is a marriage between Microsoft's old Windows operating system products and something else. It is the marriage of Microsoft and Novell. A union so productive that it has changed computing in the US beyond anything that could have been imagined in just three months. Or it is the marriage of Microsoft to IBM, or Oracle, or Sun or ...

The point is that it is NOT Microsoft only. It is Microsoft plus another IT vendor that can address what Microsoft can not or will not. Microsoft's current management expects to be paid for modifications to its proprietary operating system products. Until that changes, its products are just never enterprise ready on their own. As long as IT professionals recognize this, there are solutions. Many Many solutions.
