Sony's other problems
I see two major problems with Sony in the digital music world:

1) they're still tied to a failed technology (ATRAC/minidisc)
2) they have to serve two masters--their technology group, and
their music group, and these two masters are at odds.

Take a look at how they're selling music online. It's available in
the ATRAC format (who uses that?) and with heavier DRM than
Apple uses at the iTMS (5 burns to audio cd versus Apple's 7,
use of the songs on 3 computers versus Apple's 5).
