Cable users not impacted?
Aren't cable users going to be impacted by this change too? Any household with TV's currently using analog signals will need to start using a digital converter box. My local cable company charges $8/month for each box whereas there is no extra charge for additional analog hookups.

Also VCR's and DVD recorders which rely on an analog signal will be less useful. Particularly if you want to schedule multiple unattended recordings. If there is no analog coaxial signal, you'll have to record via RCA or S-video inputs from the decoder box. If the decoder box can't be programmed to change channels unattended in coordination with the VCR/DVD recorder, you'll have to change the channel on the box manually. The solution I suppose is for everyone to buy or rent DVR's instead. But this impact is rarely discussed.
