How much easier can it get
I really don't see how Apple made the I-POD easier to use than previous MP3 players. In fact I'm not sure you could make an MP3 Player easier to use assuming you have MP3s.

What I see that the Apple did was they marketed the concept. I've never seen an ad on TV for any other portable player but Apple plastered ads everywhere and they worked. Also Apple added more room to thier player and larger screen but then the IPOD is about 8 times larger than the competing portable players at the time.

Apple has always been good at marketing not as good as Microsoft however but Apple does look cooler than anything Microsoft puts out. Windows is kind of nerdy and Apple comes off looking like more hip nerd. They illustrate this perfectly in the PC/MAC comercials. Two nerds pretending to hardware/OS personalities where one happens to be more nerdy than the other. But at the end of the day the Jocks would beat both of them up for thier lunch money.
