Amen brother, Amen...

We have Dell 2650 servers with adaptec RAID controllers that have the well known problem of locking up every week or three.

Dell has known of our problem forever. Last company I worked at had the same issue, 5 years ago. Dell stonewalled us at that company, and they stonewalled us here.

Finally, after spending a couple of hours a day on the phone for over a week, our head IT guy FINALLY got Dell to send him LSI based RAID controllers for a swap, but Dell would admit nothing, saying that the problem with the adaptec in the 26xx was NOT a known issue. Please, the dell support forums used to be full of threads that they've now deleted stating this exact problem, and how Dell had done nothing to fix it.

Then, they had to balls to say something to effect that they hope that since they are doing so much for us that we'll remember them kindly? Dear god, they've been stonewalling us for about two years on this issue and have finally admitted no wrong doing, no fault, and want us to be thankful that they're finally doing something? We've lost days and days of developer time due to these dodgy servers, and wasted hours upon hours of sysadmin time and ruined quite a few vacations over them, and they're reminding me of what a great big favor they're doing me?

ugh. I will NEVER buy anything from Dell again.
