Your points would be taken a little more seriously without all the name calling.

For starters, yes, the article indicates AMD gained 0.2% market share. Not the kind of gain that's going to make me run out and buy their stock, but good news none the less.

Regarding Intel's "bogus marketing numbering scheme", you may want to consider that it was AMD that resurrected the performance rating numbers on their CPUs before Intel decided to start doing it.

Personally, I'm glad to see Intel finally getting some serious competition in the market. This generally brings on lower prices and better performing CPUs for everyone. If Intel doesn't have a 64 bit solution by the time more OS's and apps are ready, they'll find themselves in a serious hurt. But somehow I doubt they'll hold back the R&D dollars and find themselves in that position. The only question is, will the first chips they rush out the door be able to multiply properly? wink
