NEC's new venture of Home Thin Client Computing
NEC, in collaboration with Sify, will pioneer idea of ?Home Thin Client Computing? in India. NEC is targeting India's booming PC market for sales of 100,000 thin-client terminals, which run programs by accessing a central server instead of a hard drive on the PC, by 2009.

But will it offers significant solutions to those questions

OS and Application
What O/S will be available, will it be of users choice or generic ?
What application will the user be able to run on Those Thin Client ?
Will the user be able to install their own application (what will the permission policy for the same) ?

Data & Storage
Where will the data be saved ?
Is there any option for attaching a separate data storage device ?
What type of data storage device will be applicable ?
What about the back-up system of data (against any disasters) ?

Printers
Does those Thin Client support Printing ?
What type of printers will be supported ?

Trouble-shooting
What problems do you assume that could come in those thin clients ?
Are there any predefined measures for such problems ?
What do you think could cause the highest down-time ? What that problem could be ?

Support
What type of support documents will be supplied to users ?
What types of medium of support would be available ? Telephonic, Internet, email, etc. ?

Up-gradation
What will be up-gradation plan for future ?
Up-gradation service will be charged or only the physical additions will be charged ?

Maintenance
What could be the main reason for maintenance ?
Will Those thin clients be maintained periodically ?
Will there be any extended periodical maintenance ? What will be the policy for the same ?
