But, that will just force people to Windows for low volume hardware such as
I/O cards. It would be impossible to add all of the I/O cards on the market to the kernel. We can do standard driver interfaces that do not change rapidly, and we can also make kernels that can load the older drivers. I had a problem on Fedora, where one of the standard updates, updated the kernel, and make the I/O card inoperable. If we can not fix that, we are just ceding the battle to Microsoft.
