"alot of people and business need computers to do tasks that windows just does not do very well, if at all."

Servers aside, what does desktop linux do that windows does not? And I don't mean security/stability/low cost etc. I mean from an application perspective. What can linux actually do that windows cannot.

FYI, I've been using desktop linux (suse, xubuntu, fedora) for about 3 years. Can't say I've come across anything on the desktop that XP couldn't do.
