a case of rape can cause irreparable harm (physically and mentally) to someone and should be stopped immediatly is noticed.. copyright violations on the other hand at worst will cause financial harm (well maybe emoitional damage to Lars), which can easily be compensated for.
My view, i would risk my own neck to stop a rape if i thought i could make a difference, but i might not risk my neck to stop a shoplifter.
