Odd to see this from you, yet in another discussion, you're
happy that the RIAA is trying to take away our ability to rip a cd
to another file format.

---To be honest I hate the fact that file swappers (my idea of a
thief) are able to hide behind our fair use rights---

I don't know if it's so much this as it is that our fair use rights
have not been well defined, and the RIAA is desperate to keep
any sort of definition out of the courts. Tell us what is and what
is not legal, and it's easier for everyone.

--- I wish more people that are honestly concerned with fair use
would distance themselves publicly from the file swappers and
denounce them for the low lives they are---

That's not our responsibility. We have laws on the books, and
authorities to enforce those laws. We as citizens don't need to
form vigilante groups to attack lawbreakers. That's what the
police are supposed to do, and that's why we pay taxes.
