- Poor business model
-
I would say the chances of this becoming a major business is almost nil. Not because of the technology or customer acceptance, but rather because the technology is something anyone can use for free in a computer to computer environment. That of course will gradualy take over the traditional phone system as more people get broadband.
Currrently, almost all of my relatives have this software on their systems and we talk all over the country free of any charges. In fact we give the ones without it a very hard time and tell them that if they don't get on the bandwagon they have to be the ones to call on a traditional line and pay the long distance charges.
There is nothing like FREE to motivate people to make a change and as the quality goes up, there is no reason not to make the change.
The only question really is what the Telco's will try/do to stop it from putting them out of business. - Posted by: No_Ax_to_Grind Posted on: 11/04/03 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
