Why are chemistry sets and marshmallow guns "edgy?" I thought that you were going to say that the toys were more "adult" oriented like the Barbie stuff can be. The fact is, that some of these edgier toys have a higher likelihood of inspiring creativity than some of the other toys.

That aside, I wonder if the lack of innovation is partially a response to a culture that is forever suing because of accidents. Why would I innovate a toy that "could" be dangerous in weird situations when I have a time tested product that is safe?
