...but I didn't sense any negativity in the responses. I think as most of us are in the same boat as you, I'm a software engineer as well, and we can all appreciate innovation, even at the level this article describes.

It's overwhelming at times to think of the speed at which technology has evolved and changed our lives. However, lately, I'm seeing less innovation and more 'imagination', clever uses for the same old technology, instead of the killer app that changes humanity forever. Furthermore: HDTV, high speed internet, terabyte hard drives -- seems like everything is about quantity rather than quality these days. You think apps are bloated now? It's only gonna get worse. Long gone are the days a programmer at Atari had to struggle and be creative to squeeze a great game onto an 8K rom.

So, 80 cores on a chip? Excuse me but, yawn...
