Kodak - print head cleaner
IF Kodak would make a "print head cleaner" kit that retailers could sell for $9.95 and still make their desired margin on, Kodak would have a winner. They have the history in ink and pigment chemistry to be able to make a "solvent cartridge" and "cleaner sheet" that could dissolve "their ink" that has dried in little used jets without the solvent damaging the rest of the machine. Technicians can do this now if they have the ability to disassemble the machines to the point where they can soak the printheads. But most current machines, especially "consumer" level ones aren't designed to make even that kind of maintenance possible ( can't be taken apart without breaking a mechanism for which replacement parts are available ) .
