The Canon problem.
Yes, taking the print heads off the ink will save money in ink, BUT unless you use your printer REGULARLY, you will fall into the problem I always run into with Canon printers (which also have ink separate from print heads for cheaper cartridges) - the print heads dry up and become useless ... then you have ink for a printer that won't work anyway.

The idea is good ... so long as you print things often. If you print infrequently, like me, they're not a good solution. For me, an integrated print head cartridge is a better solution, since if it dries out, a new cartridge 'fixes' the printer.
