I used to recommend anything but Dell for PC's and notebooks as Dell refused to offer AMD chips, doggedly sticking to the hopeless Intel NetBust architecture.

Now that Intel has the Core architecture out, I would buy a Dell as it's the most economically priced Core 2 Duo notebook around... and not because they finally sell AMD CPU's...

If Dell wakes up and supplies what the market wants, it'll regain it's number one position.

Similarly with AMD, it's high-handed discontunuation of the Socket 939 architecture has disenfranchised alot of AMD supporters... including this one... My latest PC is now Intel-based after so many years of AMD ones...
