Intel ups server share, but AMD wins in PCs

AMD held the performance crown for two years, and Intel has taken it back for eight months -- and all of a sudden AMD is bottom-feeding?!?!

It's amazing to me how fast we forget. Over 10 years ago, AMD was a bottom-feeder company. But not now. Last quarter, they maintained 40% profit margins *and* gain market share -- that can't be due to selling more Athlons than Intel sold Celerons; the margins wouldn't hold up in that case.

AMD now has more market share than they've had in over 10 years; that comes from improvements in their technology and fabrication capacity -- not from outselling Intel at the low end.

But if you insist on bashing them, I'll have to "bottom-feed" myself and buy their stock. Kindly drive it down to $12 and I'll get all I can afford.
