Conservative assumptions?
"IDC said its forecast is based on a conservative set of economic assumptions. "If the recent announcement of surging economic growth in the US is sustained, and the gradual improvement in international economies continues, we can look forward to a further uptick in IT spending expectations," said Stephen Minton, an IT spending analyst at IDC." - quote from the article

How can they call this a conservative set of assumptions? No economist whose opinion I've read thinks that the U.S. growth rate of the last two quarters can be sustained for much longer. In addition nowhere do they address the question of outsourcing IT jobs overseas. Locally at least two very large employers of IT people are starting the process of sending their IT work overseas. Of course I'm not at all surprised at one of them. He raised a stink a little while ago by getting really nasty in a company wide e-mail because the parking lot wasn't full of people working extra hours free for him on Saturdays.
