You are a touch to hard on the attorneys
No doubt about it, there are a number of attorneys who are ready to brake the rule of law, but the fact is that 99% of what people complain about is actually attorneys following the law. Of course we don't want to hear that because that would leave the blame on society in general for allowing poorly constructed law to exist.

And as far as attorneys defending a clients interests in court goes, even when it turns out the client was in the wrong, that little problem lies squarely at the feet of society in general as the law not only allows for it, the law absolutely demands that any attorney who represents any client is forced by law to defend their client as vigorously as the law allows and demands every possible defence that may apply to be explored and used if the client so wishes.

I think every sane person would agree that an attorney who breaks laws to defend anyone is a crook. Unfortunately 95% of what people complain about lawyers is actually lawyers doing precisely what society demands they do unless they want to loose their license to practice. If you don't like that, don't complain about the lawyers, complain about the law. Most lawyers would have a much easier job if they were allowed under law to avoid practicing in ways they felt were less then fair.

Of course, then when YOU get in trouble you have to hope YOUR lawyer thinks your idea on how you want to be defended is "fair" or they would be allowed to refuse to defend you that particular way if they thought it wasn't a fair way, even if it was a perfectly legal defence. Nope...thats a bad idea, I don't think we should leave it up to the moral feelings of the lawyer what defence to pursue for their client. The law says the lawyer must pursue all defences that are legal, I think we had best leave it that way.
