wrong time

when i went to buy my first computer (a PDP-11) in 1981, i asked a friend who'd been in the business since the sixties whether i should wait a while or not.

he said "here's the rule: it's always the wrong time to buy a computer. so just buy one."

still good advice, and i'd say the same thing if amd was on top and folks were wondering whether to wait for intel's next offering.
