What REALLY happened at the restaurant ..
Schwartz: Paul, you have a rock'n chip now. Surely we should do business, right?

Otellini: Nope, you schmucks dumped me 3 years ago and went to bed with AMD. So, now you realize AMD has a crummy roadmap by comparison and you're getting whooped, right?

Schwartz: Well, we fired that toothy CEO last year and I like Intel. I'm cool like Steve Jobs too. Like my pony tail?

Otellini: You look like a 70's goof, but I'm glad your boyfriend like it. Anyway, I should just drop kick you right now and continue to bury Solaris, Sparc and let you sink with AMD's crummy future. However, I'm a sales guy and a sucker for $5M in more business even at the expense of squandering $300M in resuscitating Solaris and knowing my money will help you get your AMD's system to work better.

Schwartz: Paul, you read me like a book. Yes, I admit, I will take your money and funnel most of it to get that AMD stuff working. However, you and I know that your butt is will get fired by the Intel board if you don;t get the stock up, right? A SUN + Intel alliance will surely get some coverage and your stock should go up and AMD's down. THAT, is what it's all about - squander your resources, swallow your pride, think short term and you might keep your job. Deal ?

Otellini: OK, Deal. How much business do I get? About $400M in more revenue per year?

Schwartz: Oh please. If you get $10M in more business, you're lucky.

Otellini: What? I spend $300M to help you with Solaris, tick off Microsoft and I get $10M is return business? Thats about $5M in profit! I made that since we met at 7PM!

Schwartz : Paul, nobody has to know. Remember, your job is on the line. The investors and your board don;t give a hoot. It's all about the publicity.

Otellini: OK. Please pass the wine. Oops.. Oh garcon, please pour me some of that CEO nectar please and for my friend here with the sexy pony tail.
