IBM does all kinds of proprietary deals.
They can make sure that IBM has zero rights to the XBox software. Heck, IBM does not even have to see the code, they are just selling the processor. Just like Intel never sees most of the code that runs on their processors. But, even then, IBM would not have any use for buggy code from a company that has no clue. Sony is the one that would have to worry. I think you got it reversed though. In terms of hardware, IBM is the premier company, and Microsoft has no clue, not even second rate. These days, IBM is cool, and Microsoft is a boring iron fisted company, insisting on doing business the old way.
