I bet that Prada does that to fill up their stock. They are so inexpensive and popular that I can imagine that their stock goes out so quickly and they sell like in WalMart.
Only half intelligent person can't see what they need that tracking for... and I bet this is not for tracking thiefs. The stores with that sort of merchandise is well secured and under survailence... plus any shoplifter has difficulty to blend in definitely.
