On a *NIX machine, if you want to create a "server", you just turn on the the functionality and VIOLA, you have a server. You don't have to load a different OS (at a higher price). You don't need to "treat it" any differently than any other computer (i.e no special needs). You don't need a dedicated, high-priced machine.

If Dollar Bill is pitching this, then you can believe that it's all about the Benjamins. There is simply no reason that a single PC can't act as server and client while other PCs act as clients - except maybe that you need a different OS (W2K3?).

While M$ limits your choices and pigeonholes you into certain categories - *NIX never has.
